How much does a Level 2 home charger install cost?
A standard Level 2 home charger installation typically costs $700–$1,000 when panel capacity and the wire run are straightforward. Panel upgrades, long conduit, outdoor posts, trenching, and permit-heavy jobs cost more. Call or use the quote form for a scoped estimate.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 uses a standard 120V household outlet and is slow — often overnight is not enough for higher daily miles. Level 2 uses a dedicated 240V circuit and an EVSE (wall charger), which is what most Reno-area homeowners want for practical daily charging.
Do you install Tesla Wall Connectors?
Yes. Tesla Wall Connector installs are a common request. Licensed electrician partners hardwire the unit. Hardware cost is separate from install labor. Pricing follows the same honesty rules as other Level 2 jobs.
Who actually does the electrical work?
Reno EV Charger is an operator-routed lead service. You call or submit a quote request; we qualify the job and schedule a licensed electrician partner to perform the install. We do not invent license numbers on this site.
When do I need a panel upgrade?
If your panel is full, undersized, or cannot support a dedicated Level 2 breaker after a load calculation, you may need a panel upgrade or other electrical prep. That work costs more than a standard $700–$1,000 install — we flag it early.
How long does a typical install take?
Many straightforward garage Level 2 installs are completed in a half day to a day once scheduled, depending on permit timing and site conditions. Complex outdoor runs or panel upgrades take longer. We confirm timing after scoping.
Do I need a permit in Washoe or Carson County?
Most hardwired Level 2 installs require a permit and inspection. Rules vary by Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, Carson City, Lyon County towns, and Truckee (CA). Our partners pull permits as required — we do not encourage skipping them.
Can you install chargers for condos or HOAs?
Sometimes — but condo and HOA jobs often need association approval, assigned parking plans, or shared-electrical coordination. Those projects are rarely the simple $700–$1,000 garage install. Tell us your HOA constraints in the quote notes.

We are brand-agnostic for residential Level 2: Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Wallbox, and similar hardwired units. Bring the charger you own or tell us what you plan to buy.
